Face acne & related concerns
Face acne occurs when pores get clogged with oil, dead skin, and bacteria, causing inflammation, pimples, blackheads, whiteheads, and cysts. It’s common in teens but can affect anyone, regardless of age.
Excess oil mixes with dead skin cells, blocking pores. Hormonal changes, stress, and poor skincare can also worsen acne.
Blackheads, whiteheads
Blackheads and whiteheads are common types of acne caused by clogged pores filled with oil and dead skin. Blackheads appear dark due to air exposure in open pores, while whiteheads remain white with closed pores.
Both are triggered by factors like excess oil production, hormonal changes, and poor skincare practices.
Hyperpigmentation & darkspot
Hyperpigmentation occurs when certain skin areas become darker. Dark spots, a common type, appear as darker patches and can be caused by sun exposure, acne scars, or hormonal changes.
This happens due to excess melanin production in those areas, triggered by factors like sun exposure, inflammation, and hormonal fluctuations.
Textured skin & pores
Textured skin feels rough due to unevenness caused by acne scars, clogged pores, or ageing. Pores appear larger when clogged.
Textured skin lacks smoothness due to irregularities like scarring, enlarged pores, and dryness. Enlarged pores result from factors like oily skin, sun damage, and ageing.
Dull skin
Dull skin refers to a complexion that appears tired, uneven, or lacklustre. It may look grey, sallow, or just not as radiant as usual.
Skin can become dull when dead skin cells pile up on the surface, blocking light and making your skin look lifeless. Factors like dehydration, lack of sleep, stress, and poor diet can contribute to dullness.
Face tan
A face tan results from skin darkening after sun or tanning bed exposure. The UV rays stimulate and increase melanin production in skin cells, making the skin appearance darker.
Sun exposure triggers melanin production, leading to a tan as the skin protects itself. Excessive UV exposure can lead to premature ageing and sunburn.
Wrinkles & fine lines
Wrinkles and fine lines are creases in the skin that develop we we age. Fine lines are shallow and typically appear first, around eyes, mouth, and forehead, while wrinkles are deeper.
Skin loses elasticity with age due to decreased collagen. Sun exposure, pollution, and smoking accelerate this process, leading to wrinkle formation.
Hair fall
Hair fall is the shedding of hair from the scalp. It can range from thinning to baldness and is caused by factors like genetics, hormones, and stress.
Hair fall occurs when the hair growth cycle is disrupted. Normally, hair grows, rests, and falls out. However, excessive hair loss occurs when the growth phase shortens.
Alopecia
Alopecia is a condition where hair loss occurs in patches on the scalp or other parts of the body. It can affect both men and women and may be triggered by autoimmune responses, stress, or genetic factors.
The immune system mistakenly attacks hair follicles, leading to hair loss and preventing new hair growth.
Hair thinning
Face acne occurs when pores get clogged with oil, dead skin, and bacteria, causing inflammation, pimples, blackheads, whiteheads, and cysts. It’s common in teens but can affect anyone, regardless of age
Excess oil mixes with dead skin cells, blocking pores. Hormonal changes, stress, and poor skincare can also worsen acne.
Receding hairline
Face acne occurs when pores get clogged with oil, dead skin, and bacteria, causing inflammation, pimples, blackheads, whiteheads, and cysts. It’s common in teens but can affect anyone, regardless of age
Excess oil mixes with dead skin cells, blocking pores. Hormonal changes, stress, and poor skincare can also worsen acne.
Excessive sweating
Excessive sweating, or hyperhidrosis, is excessive perspiration beyond the body's cooling needs. It can affect specific areas or the entire body.
Hyperhidrosis occurs when sweat glands overproduce. Primary hyperhidrosis has no known cause, while secondary hyperhidrosis is triggered by factors like medication, medical conditions, or stress.
Body acne & related concerns
Body acne appears on the back, chest, and shoulders. It occurs when pores clog with oil, dead skin cells, and bacteria. Body acne can also cause scarring if not managed properly.
Body acne develops from excess oil, dead skin, and bacteria. Sweat, friction, hormonal changes, and poor hygiene contribute to breakouts.
Skin laxity
Skin laxity refers to the loss of skin firmness and elasticity, making it appear loose or saggy. This occurs as the skin loses collagen and elastin, proteins that keep the skin tight.
Collagen and elastin production decreases with age, leading to skin laxity. Sun exposure, smoking, and weight fluctuations accelerate this process.
Stubborn, unwanted fat
Stubborn, unwanted fat refers to fat that is resistant to diet and exercise, often found around the belly, thighs, and underarms.
This fat is typically more persistent due to factors like genetics, hormones, and lifestyle choices. While diet and exercise help reduce overall body fat, stubborn fat is harder to eliminate from specific areas.
Strawberry skin (Keratosis pilaris)
Strawberry skin, or Keratosis Pilaris (KP), is a common skin condition characterised by small, red bumps, often on the arms, thighs, or buttocks.
KP occurs when excess keratin builds up in hair follicles, blocking them and forming rough bumps. While its harmless, it can be noticeable and sometimes itchy.
Body tan
A body tan results from skin darkening after sun or tanning bed exposure. The skin produces more melanin, the pigment responsible for skin colour, in response to UV radiation.
Body tanning occurs when UV rays stimulate melanin production. While tanning provides a bronzed look, excessive sun exposure increases the risk of premature ageing and sunburn.
